Day 1: Ouarzazate – Roses Valley – Dades Valley – Todra Gorges
Your journey starts with a morning pickup from your Ouarzazate hotel. Heading toward Dades Gorge, you’ll pass the Skoura Oasis, where crumbling kasbahs stand among swaying palms.
Next, you’ll enter the Valley of Roses, famous for its fragrant blooms used in Moroccan cosmetics. Stop to explore local rose products before taking an off-road detour for breathtaking valley views.
After lunch in Dades Gorge, hike through its winding rock formations and terraced gardens. The day ends in Todra Gorges, where you’ll spend the night in a cozy riad or hotel.
Day 2: Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert
Wake up to a traditional breakfast before visiting the Todgha Gorges, where 300-meter cliffs tower overhead. Take a short walk through the narrow canyon, marveling at the sunlight filtering through the rocky walls.
The route then leads toward the Sahara, passing Tinjdad and the Tafilalet Oasis. In Erfoud, discover how ancient fossils are transformed into intricate handicrafts. Pause at underground irrigation channels (khettaras), a centuries-old Berber engineering marvel.
Arriving in Merzouga, you’ll be greeted with mint tea before a sunset camel ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes. Spend the evening at a desert camp, enjoying live Berber music, a hearty dinner, and a night in a nomad-style tent.
