This 3 day desert tour from Marrakech, takes you on a journey through beautiful landscapes and interesting places. First, you will travel through the Atlas Mountains and see Berber villages. You’ll visit the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a famous place for movies, and stop in Ouarzazate, known as “Hollywood of Africa.” Then, you’ll drive along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs and reach the Dades Valley for an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast.
On the second day, you’ll visit the Todra Gorges, Erfoud, and Rissani to explore local markets. In Merzouga, you’ll ride camels into the Erg Chebbi dunes to watch the sunset and spend the night at a desert camp with music, dinner, and a starry sky. On the last day, you’ll see the Draa Valley and Agdz, with palm groves and traditional villages. After lunch in Ouarzazate, you’ll drive back to Marrakech, enjoying the views along the way, and the tour ends at your accommodation.
After breakfast, we will leave Marrakech and head towards the Dades Valley. Our journey begins by crossing the Tizi N’Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains, offering stunning views of Berber villages and mountain landscapes. Our first stop is the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its beautiful architecture and as a filming location for many movies.
After a guided tour of the Kasbah, we will continue to Ouarzazate, also called the “Hollywood of Africa,” where you can visit the Atlas Film Studio. We will then drive along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing through Kalaat M’Gouna, the “Rose City,” where you can stop at a cooperative for rose-based products. In the evening, we will reach the Dades Valley, where you will stay overnight in a hotel overlooking the green valley. Dinner and breakfast are included.
After breakfast, we will leave the Dades Valley and drive through palm groves and Berber villages to reach the Todra Gorge, a spectacular canyon about 300 meters (984 feet) high. You will have time to walk along the river and take in the cool, refreshing atmosphere.
Next, we will pass through Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops, and Rissani, where Morocco’s royal Alaouite dynasty began. In Rissani, you can visit the lively market with sections for dates, spices, and other local goods.
By evening, we will arrive in Merzouga. Here, you will ride camels into the Erg Chebbi dunes to watch a magical sunset. The camel trek will take you to a desert camp, where you will be welcomed with mint tea. Overnight at the camp includes dinner, a live Berber drum show, and breakfast under the starry desert sky.
Start your final day early by watching the sunrise over the dunes, then enjoy breakfast at the camp before heading back to Merzouga by camel. From here, we will take the scenic route through the Draa Valley, known for its stunning palm groves, ancient kasbahs, and picturesque landscapes.
We will stop at Agdz, a charming town at the heart of the Draa Valley, where you can explore traditional Berber villages and see the lush oasis. After a short break, we will continue to Ouarzazate for lunch.
In the afternoon, we will drive back to Marrakech via the Tizi N’Tichka Pass, stopping along the way for breathtaking views and photo opportunities. By evening, we will arrive in Marrakech, where your 3 days desert tour from Marrakech will end with a drop-off at your accommodation.
