You will visit Ifrane, known as “the Switzerland of Morocco,” and see the Cedar Forest in Azrou, where you can feed monkeys. Then, enjoy the views of the Ziz Valley before reaching Merzouga and the famous Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, you will ride camels and sleep in a desert camp.
In the desert, you will meet a nomad family, visit the old Mascara mine, and hear traditional Gnawa music in Khamlia. You will also stop at Merzouga Lake, a great place for birdwatching. Next, visit Rissani and Erfoud, and see the Todra Gorge, a giant canyon.
In the Dades Valley, look at the amazing rock formations called “Monkey Toes.” Then, head to Ouarzazate to see the Atlas Film Studios and the beautiful Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Finally, cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass and arrive in Marrakech.
After breakfast, we depart Fes and head towards the Sahara Desert, passing through the Middle Atlas Mountains and charming Berber villages. Our first stop is Ifrane, known as “Little Switzerland,” followed by Azrou, where you can see Barbary monkeys in the cedar forest. After lunch in Midelt, we continue through the scenic Ziz Valley, arriving in Merzouga by evening. Enjoy mint tea and check into your hotel near the Erg Chebbi dunes for an overnight stay.
Start your day exploring the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, visiting a nomad family and learning about their lifestyle. Discover the abandoned Mascara mine and nearby Berber villages, then enjoy Gnawa music and culture. After lunch, relax at your hotel or visit Merzouga Lake for birdwatching. In the evening, ride camels into the dunes for a breathtaking sunset, followed by an overnight stay at a desert camp with dinner, a Berber drum show, and breakfast.
Wake up early for a stunning desert sunrise before leaving Merzouga. Visit Rissani’s bustling market and Erfoud’s fossilized marble workshop. Continue to Todra Gorge, where you can walk along the river, then head to the Dades Valley to see unique rock formations and ancient kasbahs. Overnight at a hotel with dinner and breakfast included.
After breakfast, travel through the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” to Kalaat Mgouna, known for its rose products, and Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa.” Visit the Atlas Film Studio and the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. After lunch, cross the Tizi N’Tichka Pass in the Atlas Mountains, arriving in Marrakech by evening. This marks the end of your tour.
